Craig Perriman - Practice Manager

Craig joined the RVC team as Practive Manager early in 2017, he holds a number of business management & human resource management qualifications. His past roles in the professional service’s area have equipped him well for the position of Practice Manager.

Outside the office, alot of time is spent with his family around various sporting fields in Canterbury, he likes to play tennis and enjoys watching all sports.

Originally from Dunedin, Craig has worked around the South Island spending time in Timaru & Invercargill before moving to Christchurch with his wife Rachael and their 3 children, two teens and an almost teen, life is very busy!

Also very much part of the family, but not so much into watching sports, are the 2 burmese cats, Coco and Gordy, and Pete the Labradoodle.

Mary Leech - Administration Manager

Mary has been working at Rangiora Vet Centre since 1978, and is involved in the accounting/finance side of the business.  She has  seen many changes over the years from the small practice of only 5 staff when she started to now over 70. 

Mary has a wonderful bond with her family and especially loves spending time with her 4 grandchildren.

When time allows she enjoys gardening, and shares with her husband Dougal, a love of travel  as they plan their next overseas adventure.   


Kim Anderson - Customer Service Team Leader & Vet Nurse

Hi my name is Kim Anderson, I am a Vet Nurse, and also Customer Service Team Leader. I qualified as a vet nurse in 2008 and have a very strong interest in Weight loss for pets,Grooming and consulting.

I live locally on a lifestyle block with my Husband and Two Teenage childen, we have a couple of horses, sheep, cattle, 2 fantastic Border Collies and 6 (yes 6) super cool Cats, never a dull moment at our house.

My primary role is based in the Consult/Treatment areas,where I get to meet and greet patients prior to surgery and consults, as well as over see the running of the Lab and the Customer Service team. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Shontelle Woodham - Customer Services

My name is Shontelle and I joined RVC in June 2018 and have loved working with the customer service team ever since.
I'm a born and raised Cantabrian and now live locally in Rangiora with my partner and our naughty black cat Salem. I also keep tropical fish who Salem often enjoys tormenting.
In my spare time you'll find my partner and I working on our house doing one renovation after another. I've got a keen eye for gardening both indoors and out. 

Kate Stewart - Customer Services, Large Animal Support

Kate started at the Rangiora clinic late in 2014 in the Customer Service team, primarily working with the large animal clients, she is a great addition to the team. Having always lived in North Canterbury, she has previously worked as a Vet Technician for Rangiora Equine, and has also spent time working with Canterbury Equestrian.

Kate adores horses, she has two of her own, Monty and Archie, an accomplished rider, she has a very keen interest in show jumping and competing. When not with her horses, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family.


Shelley Hunter - Customer Services, Large Animal Support

Shelley has been with the RVC team since 2003, she has too many qualifications to list so it has been decided to settle on her main qualification being a Degree in Life!! Her speciality interest is Equine, especially harness racing, breeding and training. Born in Christchurch, Shelley and her husband returned to Canterbury after 28 years in Southland when they downsized farms. With a love of travel, spending time with her family and helping with their racehorses, Shelley also enjoys raising young stock, most years, one or two foals. Her Wee Jess, an 11 year old Jack Russell cross, is employed as the farm truck ‘minder’.

Penny Harnett - Customer Service

Penny returned to the RVC reception team in September 2018 after some time living out of the district. She quickly fell back into step remembering clients and their precious pets, and picked up where she left off a couple of years prior.

She has a National Certificate in Animal Training, Certificate in Dog Handling and Training Management and is the Cat Advocate for the client services team. She takes every opportunity to upskill in canine and feline behaviour, as well as nutrition.

Penny is a local, she grew up in Cust, on a sheep and deer farm in Springbank, and now lives in Rangiora with her husband Andy and her beloved corgi Tango, who is short on legs, and big on personality! They also have 3 cats, Pippin and Lily, the naughty torties, and Walter the big fat tabby.

Melissa Emery - Customer Services

A qualified Vet Nurse with a background in small animals, Melissa also has a keen interest in all things large animal. When she joined the RVC Customer Service team in September 2016 she already had a wealth of knowledge to service customers.

Having grown up locally in Fernside, Melissa then spent time travelling and 4 years Vet Nursing in Whangarei, as well as 7 years "mumming". She loves getting out in nature with the family, especially skiing and horseriding.

Joy Winter - Stock Controller/Accounts Receivable

Joy is passionate about providing quality service to the clinic clients and has done so since she began with the RVC team in 2005. A born and bred Cantabrian, she has lived in North Canterbury for the last 19 years. She has a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing and loves spending time with her animals, Bracken a Standardbred and her faithful Irish Setter Geordie. Outside the office Joy also likes to spend time with her family and tend to her garden all the while trying to find time to enjoy her other hobbies which include horses, reading a good book or walking.

Carol Nortje - Accounts Administrator

Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting

Carol's training in Management Accounting combined with 15 years experience in a production environment has equipped her with a strong business sense. She possesses an acumen for finance, client management and continuous improvement, and was excited to join the RVC administration team in July 2016.

Being a mom of 4 keeps her & busy when not at work, her family is her source joy. Her and husband Jaco, now proud residents of New Zealand, originally from South Africa, love Canterbury and the lifestyle it offers their family. Free time is spent exploring the country side and forests, they are firm believers that a family that plays together stays together.

Sonya Williams - Customer Service

Rebecca Harris - Marketing & Promotions / Digital

Rebecca joined the RVC Team late in 2014, growing up in the Otago region she has been a North Canterbury resident most of her adult life. Ditching the commute and city job in media and publishing after 15 years, she now has more time to get involved in the community where she lives and volunteering her time when she can.

Along with spending time with husband Richard and their chocolate lab Nigel, travelling and cruising around tropical islands is her most favourite thing!

Rachael Dalzell - Online Customer Service

Rachael joined the Administration Team as Customer Support for the Online Vet Store in June 2018.  She has an extensive customer service background and thrives on providing quality service to clients.

Outside of work her hobbies include travel and running, She has completed a number of marathons around New Zealand. She and husband Alastair have a blended family of 4 adult children, a 3 year old Fox Terrier called Loki, plus a 12 year cat Bella. They are kept busy which is the way they like life to roll.
