Sarah Montgomery

BVMedSci BVM BVS PGCertSAM CertAVP MRCVS
Medicine Special Interest Veterinarian

Sarah graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2016 and has completed postgraduate qualifications in Small Animal Medicine (PGCertSAM) and Diagnostic Imaging (CertAVP). She has worked in referral practice in the UK as both a rotating intern and a medicine and imaging clinician. Prior to this, Sarah spent more than five years in general practice across the UK and New Zealand, developing broad clinical experience in both first-opinion and referral settings.

Sarah accepts referrals across internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and oncology, managing a wide range of cases from diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and complex medical investigations to chemotherapy planning and cancer care. She is available for both referral work-ups and ongoing treatment, as well as outpatient consultations.

In addition, Sarah offers a tele-advice service, providing practical support and clinical guidance to veterinary colleagues managing challenging cases.

Every patient benefits from Sarah’s expertise, attention to detail, and collaborative approach to care, supported by a highly skilled nursing team and the Emergency Vet Hospital for critical cases requiring 24-hour monitoring and treatment.

Sarah is supported by two dedicated nurses, Kayla and Andrea.

KAYLA FEARY has over 10 years experience as a Veterinary nurse at RVC, and is passionate about delivering high-quality care to both patients and their people.

She has a strong interest in referral cases, supporting other clinics, and working closely with clients to achieve the best outcomes for their pets. And particularly enjoys managing complex cases, especially those that allow her to be involved from the diagnostic stage through treatment.

Being part of the process helping veterinarians uncover challenging medical conditions, through to assisting in the surgery to help resolve them, is incredibly rewarding for her.

At the heart of her work, is a genuine love for helping people help their pets. She strives to provide passionate support, clear communication, and a high standard of care every step of the way.

ANDREA PIEPER joined RVC in 2022 as a vet nurse with the Emergency Vet Hospital team, and to this day continues to have a special interest in emergency medicine. Her other special interests include client education and medical cases, so when the opportunity arose in 2025 to join the referral medicine team, she eagerly embraced the chance to expand her skills and work more closely with complex medical patients.

Andrea enjoys building strong relationships with both clients and their pets, helping owners better understand their animals’ health and treatment plans. She is passionate about providing compassionate care and supporting pets through every stage of their medical journey.
