2021 North Canterbury Business Awards Winners Announced

Rangiora Vet Centre has been named the MainPower Supreme Award Winner at the 2021 North Canterbury Business Awards.

The announcement was made via an online presentation by Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) in November, 2021, with Certificates presented in February 2022, after the announcement was made there was to be no celebratory event due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The North Canterbury Business Awards judges commended Rangiora Vet Centre as “An industry leading business with a very clear strategy built around technically sound staff and sound business practices. It provides a unique offering and a strong commitment to maintaining a personal customer centric philosophy as it grows. This business demonstrated excellence in every aspect of their operation.”

As there was no special celebratory event for the 2021 North Canterbury Business Awards, Enterprise North Canterbury recently visited the winners and runners up to deliver trophies and certificates.

Rangiora Vet Centre also won the North Canterbury Business Awards BDO Professional Services Award.

Rangiora Vet Centre Managing Director Ben Davidson said his team was thrilled with the win. “We had about 25 people in the staffroom watching the Supreme Award announcement and the team erupted when we heard our name come up. There was plenty of cheering, whooping and big smiles all round.  We feel extremely proud of the team and this award is a huge nod to all of the commitment and passion which each team member brings to our business every day.”

ENC Business Support Manager Miles Dalton who presented the awards ceremony says Rangiora Vet Centre was a very worthy recipient. “We had such a strong field of competition this year, with a huge number of entrants. To be picked as the Supreme Winner is no mean feat and we are thrilled for the Rangiora Vet Centre team.”

The MainPower Supreme Award was the 11th presentation this week, with the finalists and winners in each awards category announced in their own online ceremonies. The presentations were forced online for the first time in the event’s history after the 2021 North Canterbury Business Awards Gala was postponed and then cancelled due to COVID-19 event restrictions.

Mr Dalton says the online presentation has proven an exceptionally positive experience. “Naturally we were all very disappointed that the Gala couldn’t proceed. However, we have had an amazing level of engagement with our online presentations as well as a hugely positive response to our social media announcements.”

ENC is hosting an awards ceremony event for the winners and finalists in February 2022, at which they will receive their North Canterbury Business Awards in person.
