SPRING LAMBING KIT: Are you prepared?

If you’re expecting to be lambing this season, it’s time to make sure you are prepared for any assistance that may be required and mishaps that may arise (and unfortunately sometimes do) without warning.

Here’s what we recommend having on-hand for your spring lambing kit:

  • A clean towel or two

  • A head torch (with fresh batteries)

  • Gloves and hand wash

  • Lube

  • Iodine spray for navels

  • Wool lamb jacket

  • Colostrum and milk replacement powders

  • Lamb feeding bottle and 2 teats

  • Lamb tube feeder

  • Disinfectant/steriliser

  • Keto-Aid and Glucalphos on-hand for any down ewes

  • A copy of our Lambing & Rearing Guide pamphlet

  • RVC phone number in case you require assistance

PAIN RELIEF

Pain relief is recommended for many assisted deliveries; this is a veterinary medicine that requires a prescription. Please call the clinic and speak to a vet if you require pain relief for your ewe.
