Veterinary Nurse
Kaiapoi Vet Clinic

ABOUT US:

Kaiapoi Veterinary Clinic is committed to delivering excellence in patient care, outstanding client service, and supporting staff wellbeing. We pride ourselves on our close-knit, friendly team culture and actively encourage our team members to develop professionally and pursue their individual interests within veterinary nursing.

Kaiapoi Veterinary Clinic operates as part of the Rangiora Vet Centre team. We are a “family-style” clinic where team culture and work–life balance are genuinely valued. Ongoing professional development (CPD) and further study are strongly supported and encouraged.

In 2027, we will be relocating to a new, state-of-the-art, best-practice facility. From this modern setting, we will continue to provide exceptional care to our loyal clients. Our clinic is ideally located on the doorstep of Christchurch and within an hour of Canterbury’s natural playground, offering access to skiing, fishing, boating, mountain biking, hunting, and hiking.

ABOUT YOU

Our core values are Excellence, Empathy and Respect, Team and Community, and Innovation. If these values resonate with you and you enjoy building strong client relationships, working collaboratively within a supportive team, and delivering outstanding customer service, we would love to hear from you.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our Kaiapoi team. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, working weekdays with some late finishes (currently until 6:00 pm; extending to 7:00 pm once we move to the new premises).

Weekend work will involve a one-in-four Saturday roster (currently mornings only, 8:00 am – 11:00 am). In our new premises, this is expected to transition to a one-in-four Saturday roster, working 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. This is a varied and engaging role that includes nurse consultations, surgical nursing, and customer service responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive, reliable, and calm under pressure. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for client care are essential.

The ideal applicant will hold, at a minimum, a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing and have exceptional customer service skills. You will be supported by a thorough induction and training programme, working alongside a team of three veterinarians and two other nurses at Kaiapoi, with additional backing from the wider Rangiora Vet Centre team.
